The summer intensive program has been designed to provide pre-professional students aged 10 to 22 with a complete dance-training program. The classes are divided by level according to the Vaganova training curriculum and are split into 5 levels: Vaganova 1, Vaganova 2, Vaganova 3, Vaganova 4 and Advanced. There is also a Teachers Program. The curriculum focuses on ensuring both male and female students receive a unique approach to authentic, traditional classical ballet training with the finest classical ballet teachers.

The program teaches the Vaganova Method with classes being given by teachers who have graduated from the most prestigious professional ballet schools. All ballet teachers have attained the highest levels of training and have danced professionally in some of the worlds most renowned companies. 

 

Levels:

  • Vaganova 1 

  • Vaganova 2 

  • Vaganova 3 

  • Vaganova 4

  • Advanced 

 

*Student’s placement goes according to the level and not by age.

About the Program

 

Instruction will focus on ballet technique, Pointe work, pas de deux and virtuosity.  Each group will receive classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe*, virtuosity, Female and Male Variations, Character, Pas de Deux, contemporary, Flamenco and Body conditioning classes.

 

*For the Intermediate and Advanced levels only.

 

The schedule of classes will depend on the level of the student. Students will take at least 4 classes a day, 1 hour and 30 minutes for Technique and 1 hour for every other discipline. Selection and student placement is at the sole discretion of the Artistic Director, Mr. Vladimir Issaev. Classes are Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Every student will have a lunch break in the middle of the day.

How to apply

 

  • Applicant must audition to attend the Summer Program

  • A fee of $25.00 is applicable for all aspiring students. Payment via PAYPAL to abtflorida@aol.com or cash and Zelle at selected locations. Audition fee is UNAVOIDABLE.

IMPORTANT 

 

By standards, teachers will adjust student’s body manually to correct alignment and/or technique. If student does not allow this practice, please, do not audition.

For live auditions, applicants must bring application form and a short résumé including the student's name and address, birth date, and ballet training background.

    Pointe work: Echappé combination with passé; Pirouettes

    (For advanced students: fouettés turns)

   

    Men’s Requirements: Entrechat Six; Single or Double Tour en l’air

ABOUT THE CLASSES

 

Classes will not exceed 20 students per level.

 

Once the level reaches full capacity, students will be placed on a wait list

 

TUITION AND FEES

Audition: $25 (non-refundable)

All registrations must be completed by APRIL 1st 

After this date there is no guarantee the student will have a place in the program.

REGISTRATION: $150 (non-refundable and due by APRIL 1st)

 

TUITION FOR MAIN SESSION

 

June 30 - July 26, 2025: $1,500 - (housing and/ or meals are not included)

 

Full tuition is due by JUNE 1st

 

A 10% discount will be applied to those who pay tuition in full by March 1st - Non refundable.

International Students

 

We are proud to welcome serious students from all over the world who are interested in obtaining professional training from our renowned faculty and are specialized in the Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet. The summer program does not offer student visas for attendance. International students wishing to attend the summer intensive must do so on a tourist visa. Please consult your local embassy or consulate for policies when traveling to and visiting the United States.

 

Housing

 

No housing is available for the Summer Intensive Program.

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida cannot offer family hosting, neither can make any recommendations of any type of housing or hotels.

All students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be responsible for their own housing.

2025 SUMMER INTENSIVE TIMELINE:

Auditions period: 

January 5 to April 30 - A $25 audition fee is required.

Registration period:

January 5 to March 1st – 10% Early bird discount when paid in full

March 2 to May 1st – No discounts

Any registration between May 1st  and June 1st will incur a $100 late fee.

All registrations will be closed after June 27, 2025

Classes begin June 30th

Final Performance July 25

Open classes and graduation ceremony July 26
